SERVICES
What gets built, and what it costs.
Six things Vexley does, five tiers they get delivered in, and an honest account of how the number is arrived at. No packages that quietly exclude the thing you needed.
What we build
FOUNDATION
Business websites
Most practice websites fail in the first six seconds — slow to load, hard to scan, and vague about what the firm actually does. A Vexley site loads fast on a phone on a bad connection, says plainly who you help, and makes the next step obvious.
- Pages built to load in under a second
- Written to be scanned, not waded through
- Search-engine fundamentals done properly, not sold as a package
- Accessible to screen readers and keyboard users
SOFTWARE
Custom web applications
Some work does not fit into pages. A matching engine, a calculator, a multi-step intake, a search that has to genuinely work — these are software problems, and they behave badly when forced through a template with plugins bolted on.
- Application architecture designed around your actual workflow
- Real state handling, not page reloads pretending to be an app
- Tested against the edge cases before you find them
- Yours outright — no proprietary platform lock-in
CONTROL
Admin dashboards
A site you cannot change yourself is a site that goes stale. Every build above the smallest tier comes with somewhere to log in, update what needs updating, and see what is actually happening — enquiries, traffic, and whatever else matters to your practice.
- Content editing without touching code
- Enquiries in one searchable place, not scattered across an inbox
- The numbers that matter to you, not a generic analytics dump
- Built for the person who will actually use it
AI
AI-powered features
AI is worth adding when it removes a real task: matching a description to inventory, summarising a long intake, answering the question someone actually asked. It is not worth adding as a badge. If it will not save you or your clients time, I will say so rather than bill for it.
- Natural-language search and matching
- Summarisation of long-form intake or documents
- Grounded in your data, with sensible fallbacks when it is unsure
- Costed honestly, including what it costs to run
ACCESS
Client portals
A portal is only worth having if you can trust it. Permissions are enforced at the database level rather than by hiding buttons in the interface, so a client cannot reach another client's records even if they go looking.
- Accounts, sign-in, and password recovery
- Row-level security enforced in Postgres, not in the UI
- Per-client documents, status, and history
- An audit trail of who saw what
RETAINER
Ongoing maintenance
Software rots if nobody tends it. A monthly retainer covers dependency updates, uptime and error monitoring, backups, and a reasonable amount of content work — so small changes get made instead of piling up until they become a project.
- Dependency and security updates
- Uptime and error monitoring, with alerts I see first
- Backups you could actually restore from
- Content changes handled directly, no ticket queue
PRICING
Five tiers. One fixed number, agreed first.
The ranges below are honest bands, not a menu you buy from. Scope decides where a project actually lands, which is why every tier starts the same way — a free consultation, then a fixed quote in writing before any work begins.
01 — VexBronze
$800–1,500
A solo practitioner or new practice that needs to exist online, properly, without paying for machinery they will not use.
A small, fast, well-written site. Everything a prospective client needs to decide you are worth calling, and nothing they have to scroll past to get there. Built on the same foundation as every other tier — the difference is scope, not care.
- One to five pages
- Contact form with email notification
- Mobile and tablet layouts
- Metadata, sitemap, and search-engine basics
- Analytics installed and configured
02 — VexSilver
$1,500–2,800
A practice with news, listings, staff pages, or anything else that changes often enough that emailing a developer becomes a tax.
Everything in Bronze, plus a place to log in and change things. Content you update regularly stops being a support request and becomes a five-minute job you do yourself, between appointments.
- Five to ten pages
- Admin panel for content you actually edit
- Lead capture with a searchable record of enquiries
- Structured pages for staff, services, or locations
- Everything in VexBronze
03 — VexGold
$3,000–5,000
MOST POPULARA practice whose core offering does not fit into pages — a calculator, a search, a booking flow, a filter that has to actually work.
The tier where the site starts doing something rather than saying something. One substantial custom feature, built to spec, with a dashboard behind it so you can see what it is doing and change what it uses.
- One substantial custom feature, scoped on the call
- Application-grade interactions, not page reloads
- Dashboard with the numbers that matter to you
- Role-aware access where it is needed
- Everything in VexSilver
04 — VexPlatinum
$6,000–10,000
A practice building something their clients log into — portals, matching, document flows, anything with accounts and permissions.
A full web application. Accounts, permissions enforced in the database rather than the interface, integrations with the systems you already pay for, and AI used where it removes work rather than as a line on the homepage.
- Full application with user accounts and roles
- Row-level security enforced in the database
- AI features where they genuinely reduce manual work
- Integrations with your existing tools
- Everything in VexGold
05 — VexDiamond
$12,000+
Work that is a platform rather than a site — multiple user types, real data volume, and a roadmap rather than a launch date.
Projects at this scale are not quoted from a list. We scope the work together, in stages, and agree a fixed number for each stage before it starts. You are never asked to approve a total for something neither of us has defined yet.
- Multi-role systems with distinct permission models
- Architecture designed for the data volume you expect
- Staged delivery with a fixed quote per stage
- Ongoing roadmap rather than a single handover
- Everything in VexPlatinum
How the number is arrived at
Nothing is billed hourly
You get one fixed number for an agreed scope. If the work turns out harder than I estimated, that is my problem, not a revised invoice.
Scope changes are quoted separately
If you want something added mid-build, I price it as its own piece of work and you decide. No silent additions to the total.
You own what is built
The code, the domain, the database, the accounts. No proprietary platform you have to keep paying me to escape from.
Not sure which tier fits?
That is the normal state of affairs, and it is exactly what the consultation is for. Describe the practice and I will tell you where it lands.
